The Director General reports of the Vice-President of Life Sciences and will support the development of the Life Sciences strategy as it pertains to R&D of vaccines, biologics and biomanufacturing. Four-Six Directors that oversee various R&D departments, programs, operations and business management services report to the Director General of Human Health Therapeutics. The DG is also supported by a number of different corporate groups such as Finance, HR, Information technology etc.
The Director General will provide inspirational leadership to the scientific staff and will help set the direction of research as aligned with the strategy. Applying excellent management skills, the Director General will ensure scientific and technical excellence, and client satisfaction. The DG maximizes the value and impact of Human Health
Therapeutics in various NRC R&D Programs and initiatives aimed at scientific excellence, business innovation, and Canada’s public policy, including forging and leveraging complex external partnerships and collaborations across a
wide range of stakeholders encompassing academia, Other government departments (OGDs), and industry nationally and internationally.
