This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following… As a technical expert in epidemiology, support epidemiology strategy aligned to the drug development strategy aimed to: Improve disease understanding relevant to drug development: incidence, prevalence, risk factors, natural history course, treatment patterns, co-morbidities, co-medications, outcome measures, phenotypes, biomarkers, unmet needs, and their variations across domains such as demographics and geographies Support clinical trial design: deliver real world evidence for target population identification, protocol development, patient recruitment, and endpoints Contribute to medication safety evaluation: provide background event rates, synthesize existing evidence Support post-marketing surveillance activities: risk evaluation mitigation strategies, epidemiology studies for signal detection and inference, post-authorization studies of treatment benefit and risk Critically appraise existing epidemiology evidence and create new evidence through delivery of specific research plans/protocols and analysis of healthcare databases available within GSK Author epidemiology sections of a variety of regulatory submission documents, such as Risk Management Plans and others Perform research management activities including development of study summaries, reports and archival in accordance with GSK record and retention or data disclosure policies. Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Master's Degree in science related field 2 years' Experience independently working in epidemiology 2 years' Experience in critically evaluating scientific aspects of pharmacoepidemiology 2 years' of Good Clinical Practices (GCP), Good Epidemiology Practice (GEP), industry guidelines and working with Regulatory functions Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: PhD specializing in the field of pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, infectious diseases, clinical epidemiology, or pharmacoepidemiology. Previous experience in pharmacoepidemiology clinical vaccinology is an asset. Ability to work well within a matrix environment, balance priorities, and handle multiple tasks through good planning, project administration, and organization skills. Effective ability to prioritize tasks and deliver on deadlines, with high performance standards and a commitment to excellence.
