Business Operations & Sourcing Lead

The Business Operations & Sourcing Lead role will be responsible for delivering Partner of Choice (PoC) cost/resource estimates and projections and contracting/work orders on behalf of the Global Product Development division. The successful candidate will need to be able to innovate solutions, establish business processes and SME for the areas for which he or she is responsible.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and lead processes for generation of cost and resource estimates for PoC deals with varying degrees of assumptions and inputs ranging from high level strategy to detailed protocol and feasibility plan.
• Draft and negotiate work orders and budgets for clinical trials and related activities including Responsibility Ownership Matrix and Task Ownership Matrix and related coordination across operations, legal and finance
• Lead discussions with key stakeholders to determine optimal sourcing strategy for studies/projects
• Innovate solutions to issues that arise during exploration and negotiation
• Serve as main point of contact on costs, contracts and resources for legal, project team and business partners
• Monitor scope of project, spend and EVA against budgets once project is underway
• Ensure that operational plans align with costs and resources in budget verified by Partner of Choice Finance lead
• Track actual expense and internal resource utilization for billing purposes and for potential Change Orders and partner with Partner of Choice Finance lead on project accounting
• Partner with senior leaders to ensure organizational resources are optimized and appropriately aligned to business priorities across the business functional areas
• Lead efforts to assess resource impact to Pfizer opportunities
• Take lead role in interpreting the company's vision and goals with respect to resource optimization, sourcing strategy and operating model
• Prepare high-quality reports and presentations, with a primary focus on executive and Board of Directors-level materials

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 10 years of clinical trial, business operations or contracting experience
• Bachelors required, advanced degree preferred

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to learn from previous deals and apply lessons learned; continuous improvement mindset
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and come up with creative solutions without guidance
• Ability to work across organization to gather information
• Must have strong knowledge of clinical trial operations and related resources
• CRO experience strongly preferred
• Exceptional excel, organizational skills
• Ability to synthesize multiple sources of data and information
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Proven leadership skills and ability to drive change and influence at a senior level
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• In depth knowledge of Pfizer or ability to demonstrated ability to navigate large cross functional organization and get up to speed quickly
