In this way, DESY contributes to solving the major questions and urgent challenges facing science, society and industry. With its ultramodern research infrastructure, its interdisciplinary research platforms and its international networks, DESY offers a highly attractive working environment in the fields of science, technology and administration as well as for the education of highly qualified young scientists.

About your role:

  • Leading efforts to develop new algorithms for advanced data acquisition for synchrotron and FEL-based experiments
  • Leading efforts to develop and implement new experimental control hardware, in particular in robotics and automation
  • Coordinating existing efforts with the various DESY IT-groups
  • Maintaining and developing international contacts in the field
  • Fundraising on national and international level

About you:

  • PhD in physics or equivalent education in natural or computer science
  • Long-standing record in photon science, in particular in synchrotron and FEL experiments
  • Proven leadership experience

  • Excellent knowledge of English language
