Click to know more about GSK Biopharm. #GSKBiopharm_Development The Scientific Leader (Particle Size Technical Expert) is responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership for the development, validation, implementation, and technology transfer of analytical methods to support advancement of clinical development pipeline. You will use your particle size characterization and measurement knowledge and expertise to ensure robust analytical methods are deployed across R&D and QC laboratories to enable accelerating development and delivery of innovative medicines. This is a fast-paced and dynamic role where you will lead a team of particle size characterization and measurement scientists to design and conduct laboratory studies to develop control strategy required for quality assurance and regulatory success. You will also be accountable for development of talents and strategic direction of the team. The environment is highly technical and dynamic requiring collaborations across multi-disciplinary to provide holistic understanding of the relationship between crystal structure and powder properties for immediate release and/or long-acting injectable suspensions and solutions. Key Responsibilities: Scientific Excellence: Develop particle size control strategy by developing robust analytical methods to ensure for quality assurance and regulatory success. Design laboratory studies for understanding of the structural and bulk properties of an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) to its performance downstream to inform decision making as well as drug product linking material properties to preclinical and clinical performance Project Leadership and Communications: Collaborate and/or lead effectively in matrix team environment of multi-disciplinary experts comprising of Process Chemists, Analytical Scientists, Particle Development and Formation Engineers, Modellers, Formulators and Material Scientists. Communicate effectively at internal and regulatory meetings to support CMC strategy of project development. Team Management and Talents Development: Provide leadership for development of performance objectives, and development of talents through coaching and mentoring for technical and career growth. Quality and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with cGMP and Safety regulations and GSK policies for data integrity and documentation management. Ensure analytical instruments are qualified and maintained to standards. Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Experience in technical and people leadership B.S. in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related science discipline with 10+ years of experience Masters in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related science discipline with 8+ years of experience PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related science discipline with 5+ years of experience Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Experience in particle size characterization, method development, validation, and transfer in a GMP environment Experience and expertise with multiple physical and solid-state characterization techniques Experience and expertise with the physical characterization of long acting injectables Why GSK?
