ROLE SUMMARY

As part of the Analytical Research and Development (ARD) group in Biotherapeutics Pharmaceutical Sciences, we are seeking an enthusiastic, self-driven entry-level candidate to investigate, develop, and implement LC/MS-based strategies for the structural characterization and routine analysis of recombinant protein and mRNA therapeutics, including heightened product characterization and comparability exercises. Candidates should be comfortable working at the interface of analytical chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology, upstream/downstream bioprocessing, formulation development, and quality control, as well as participating in cross-functional project teams and interacting with cross-site research groups, business units, and commercial manufacturing groups, to drive viable molecular design, process/product understanding, and the commercialization of medicines. Excellent written and communication skills, effective time management, an innovative spirit, and the ability and desire to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced, team-oriented environment are essential for the position.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree with 0-3 years of work experience
  • Experience with laboratory data systems
  • Hands-on experience or working knowledge in the Pharmaceutical industry in the handling of analytical instruments
  • Knowledge of drug development process for progression of biological incumbents
  • Good documentation skills with high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, team-oriented, effective interpersonal and communication skills


Nice-to-Have

  • Prior experience with chromatographic or spectroscopic methods for the detailed structural characterization of proteins, vaccines, peptides, or oligosaccharides is highly beneficial.
  • Working knowledge and ability to operate analytical and physical techniques used for the characterization of pharmaceutical substances and products.
  • Attention to detail, in terms of the experimental setup, data analysis, and electronic notebook/report writing, is another important characteristic that the candidate must exercise on a daily basis in order to be successful.
  • In addition to good communication and writing skills, the applicant should also be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-based, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills

  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and ability to perform complex data analysis
