What You Will Achieve

Are you a bioanalytical scientist interested in contributing to the field of quantitative protein mass spectrometry? Join us as a Senior Associate Scientist on the Biomeasures LCMS team at Pfizer located in Andover, MA. You will be contributing to all aspects of development, implementation, execution, and analysis of high sensitivity LCMS assays for protein target quantification across the Pfizer portfolio in multiple matrices (serum, plasma, tissues, extracellular vesicles, etc) using state-of-the-art enrichment and instrumental techniques. This is a great opportunity to broadly apply your growing expertise to emerging areas of bioanalysis and impact a wide range of novel drug modalities with particular focus on gene therapy, mRNA/LNP, multispecific antibodies, and protein degraders.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Responsible for developing advanced sample preparation and instrumental techniques across multiple biological matrices to support activities in all therapeutic areas
  • Drive experimentation and adoption of novel, optimized workflows to solve complex problems and expand our group's analytical processes and capabilities
  • Communicate your scientific findings effectively to various audiences in the form of well-organized presentations and publications
  • Collaborate both internally and externally to develop successful partnerships in a large, matrix environment
  • Participate in all phases of mass spectrometry laboratory operations including instrument maintenance, the development of sample preparation and separation methods, data analysis, etc
  • Take keen interest, responsibility, and ownership for portions of our workflows that stoke your scientific curiosity
  • Ensure all tasks and responsibilities are carried out according to scientific and ethical standards


Qualifications

Must-Have

  • BS with 3+ years of bioanalytical experience OR a MS with 0+ bioanalytical experience
  • Expertise in biological sample preparation techniques (immunoaffinity, tryptic digestion, tissue processing, conjugation, etc) of various biofluids
  • Experience with general quantitative analysis techniques and statistical approaches
  • Experience generating scientific collateral using Microsoft Office applications and presenting findings to audiences effectively
  • Ability to multitask as both an independent contributor and an influential team member


Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of LCMS instrumentation and associated data analysis software (Skyline, Xcalibur, etc)
  • Working understanding of protein biochemistry and quantitative protein analytical techniques
  • Prior industry experience


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to meet the standard requirements for a lab-based role and perform all typical lab related activities (lifting ≤20 pounds, frequent pipetting, long stretches on feet, etc)


NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Occasional travel to Cambridge (Kendal Square) may be required, depending on project needs
