Site Name: USA - Massachusetts - Cambridge Posted Date: Apr 4 2022 The Immuno-Oncology & Combinations Research Unit (IOC RU) is seeking an innovative and highly motivated Scientist to execute immune assays to characterize small molecules/biologics and support preclinical development of immune-based therapies for cancer. In this lab-based role, the successful candidate will expand state-of-the-art in vitro and ex vivo assay capabilities at a growing GSK site and support novel target identification efforts. Applying a translational mindset, you will cultivate and work in a dynamic and collaborative environment to interrogate mechanisms of action and pharmacology of novel therapeutics, supporting GSK's diverse immuno-oncology pipeline from early discovery to first-time-in-human commitment. We are looking for a creative, proactive, and goal-oriented scientist with a deep curiosity and enthusiasm for uncovering novel biology. You will be accountable for generating high quality, robust data and must have the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary matrix team. Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: B.S. with 3+ years or M.S. with 1+ year of laboratory experience in immunology, biology, molecular biology, immuno-oncology, or a related discipline. Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Basic laboratory skills for standard immunology/immune-oncology methods including but not limited to cell culture, multi-color flow cytometry, cytokine quantification, and mixed cell assay systems suitable for functional characterization of biologics, small molecules and drug combinations. Prior experience with isolation, phenotypical and functional characterization of human tumor-infiltrating leukocytes. Experience in isolation, culture, and experimental manipulation of various primary immune cell populations. Experience with experimental design and the interpretation of results; ability to troubleshoot methodologies and results Excitement for establishing novel technologies in an expanding lab environment. High degree of independence, proactivity, and a strong sense of accountability. Experience displaying laboratory skills for standard immunology/immune-oncology methods. i.e.. cell culture, multi-color flow cytometry, cytokine quantification, and mixed cell assay systems suitable for functional characterization of biologics, small molecules and drug combinations. Proficiency with personal computers, including word processing, Excel, PowerPoint and relevant scientific software. Experience demonstrating verbal and written communication skills and ability to contribute in a cross-functional and global environment. Experience demonstrating organization and planning skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently or as part of a team, strong motivation with a dedicated work ethic. Why GSK?
