Job Purpose: The mission and vision of the Translational Research Partnerships group is to deliver transformational therapies to cancer patients through scientific collaboration and cutting-edge technology. These will be partnerships with global leaders in Oncology in translational research in close collaboration with GSK stakeholders in the research units, development teams, and medical affairs. Job Responsibilities: This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following… Be responsible for establishing strong relationships with the development teams to understand their research strategy and identify scientific gaps that academic collaboration can address. Assist in identifying potential collaborative partners by developing a solid understanding of the research activity (through publications, congresses, and stakeholder insight) within translational and technology areas of importance to GSK Oncology and at key academic institutions. Be responsible for establishing outreach to potential collaborative partners and coordinating meetings, including scheduling, team preparation, and outputs. Be responsible for managing collaborations, including team/governance approval, contracting process, development of workplan and deliverables, due diligence, budget and progress tracking. Promote academic engagement by coordinating relevant invited speaker seminars, consultancies, coordinating targeted face-to-face engagements at key congresses. Why You? Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in scientific field. Two or more years experience in Oncology research Preferred Qualifications: Education -PhD in life sciences with 2 years of experience in Oncology RD or MS/BS in Biology with 5-10 years of experience in Oncology drug development. Candidate must have a strong scientific background in cancer biology and a high degree of technical expertise in cellular or molecular biological techniques and/or translational techniques. Candidate must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, including listening, verbal and written communication proficiency Candidate must be highly collaborative with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally across Oncology R&D as well as with external stakeholders. Candidate must be highly organized and able to prioritize with focus on unit objectives. Experience working in an academic environment is a plus. Why GSK?
