As Senior Director you will act as key liaison with the R&D team on relevant pipeline assets and Medical opportunities, the global medical affairs teams on coordinating aligned strategies and approaches, working with Commercial counterparts to coordinate overall strategies, where relevant and working with internal US Medical affairs to develop and implement a coordinated strategic and operational planning process. This role will provide YOU with the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following… Act as a strategic thought partner for the USMA organization, providing the organization with structure, input and perspective to make prioritization decisions based on future goals and activities aligned by the US Medical Affairs Leadership Team (MALT). Drive implementation of prioritized USMA initiatives, taking into consideration the needs of R&D, Global Medical and US Commercial and independently leading execution and placement of resources to enable these initiatives. Provide coordination across medical teams to ensure alignment with overall US MA strategies and initiatives - Coordinate with senior leaders within and outside of US MA to deliver against specific strategic / operational projects. Ensure USMA leaders are prepared & effective across key external and internal global & cross-functional stakeholder meetings; Support and Global Medical/GMATs where appropriate. Define and coordinate the overall approach for strategic and budget planning, across the US MA organization, working closely with the TA strategy & ops leads within medical TAs/ functions. Be accountable for and manage a team of 2-6 to deliver: Cross-functional strategic projects; USMA strategic plans (annual strategic plan and budget as well as any longer-term plans); USMA change management and communications connected to USMA organizational readiness initiatives. Working with the SVP, manage the activities of the US MALT, planning calendar, and key strategic events throughout the year; Coordinate US MALT meetings including agendas, best practices, follow up and metrics to assess performance (decision making, commercial alignment). Represent US MALT on compliance committees and the implementation of SOPs and training. Track and manage US MALT resources, including headcount, and budget, partnering with Finance & Human Resources. Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: PhD in a Healthcare concentration, PharmD or MBA. Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Affairs, the science of the pharmaceutical industry and impact on patient outcomes, and strategic integrated medical business planning 7-10 years combination of experience in Strategy / Operations role at global PharmaCo (Sr Director or above) and Pharma Strategy / Operations consulting. Ability to travel 25%. Experience of working with senior leadership and executive teams. Demonstrated relationship-building with the key medical/scientific experts Experience working in a matrix environment and managing senior stakeholders effectively. Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Robust knowledge of the US healthcare environment including disease-specific research priorities, public health need, competitor landscape, clinical practice trends and treatment guidelines evolution. Excellent strategic thinking, communication and leadership skills. Strong business acumen and experience building investment cases.
