Research technician position- Molecular Biology
The Myles laboratory at Texas A&M University is seeking a research technician for an NIH funded multi-year project focused on the functional characterization of components of small RNA pathways, and their potential involvement in the antiviral defenses of mosquitoes. Duties will include designing and building synthetic DNA constructs; molecular cloning; bioinformatics (such as analysis of conventional and NGS sequence data); construction of small RNA and RNAseq libraries. The successful applicant will support the research of post-doctoral researchers working on the project, as well as conduct their own independent studies. Preference will be given to individuals with demonstrated experience with bioinformatic and statistical software for the analysis of sequencing data.
