Post-Doctoral Scientist position- Virology/Vector Biology
We seek a post-doctoral research scientist to conduct studies on an NIH funded multi-year project focused on the functional characterization of components of small RNA pathways, and their potential involvement in the antiviral defenses of mosquitoes. These multi-disciplinary studies will include state-of-the-art technologies such as gene editing and next generation sequencing (NGS). In addition to expertise in virology, candidates should have experience in at least some of the following areas: genetics, NGS data analysis, bioinformatics, immunology, or molecular biology.
This position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Kevin Myles at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX.
Preferred special knowledge includes proficiency with statistical analysis packages such as R and programming languages such as Python and linux.
