A faculty position (non-tenure track) is available immediately at the Center for Birth Defects Research, University of Maryland School of Medicine, for the candidates with strong publication records and experience in developmental/stem cell biology, reproductive biology, and birth defects, especially in murine cardiogenesis and neural tube development. We are also interested in an individual with a background in Alzheimer’s disease. Our research is focused on genetic and epigenetic mechanisms of maternal diabetes-induced birth defects and placental dysfunction. Applicants must have a Ph.D. with expertise at least in one of the following fields: embryonic development, cardiac development and disease, neural tube development, molecular biology, epigenetics, placental biology, and Alzheimer’s disease. Additional requirements for applicants are experience in autophagy, non-coding RNA, cellular organelle stress, or senescence. Expected rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher and the final rank will be commensurate with selected candidate’s experience.
