Summary

Full-time research assistant position in the Texas Children's Hospital (TCH)/Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) Psychology Section. The RA-II will be involved with research projects funded by the National Cancer Institute examining associations between neuroimaging and neurocognitive outcomes following radiation therapy for the treatment of pediatric brain tumors. The RA-II will perform research tasks, including MRI sequence collection and bilingual family interaction. Experience in the acquisition of high quality MRI images and bilingual in Spanish is required.

Job Duties

  • Documentation of Experiment Outcomes
  • Collects, ships, and maintains paperwork according to procedures outlined In the study protocol.
  • Maintains accurate records of research results and manages ongoing database organization based on outcomes.
  • Training
  • Responsible for CITI Program training and training of other lower level research staff on Dr. Kahalley's team.
  • May be responsible for leading or assigning activities to new staff as hired to work on this study.
  • Obtains MRI images required by study protocols, which includes overseeing MRI scans, collect/check image copies and upload images to server.
  • May be responsible for administering and scoring certain measures as part of the experiment process.
  • Completes all required training modules related to the Responsible Conduct of Research (e.g., CITI Program training). As part of conducting experiments specific to the study, the successful candidate will have involvement with MRI images and collection for ongoing research collection.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
  • Three years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Prior experience on research experiments involving MRI scans and images.
