What You Will Achieve

As a Senior Principal Scientist, you will be responsible for driving scientific strategies and their implementation to develop a robust and scalable purification process for various vaccine molecules, such as targeting subunit proteins, polysaccharides, and RNA/DNA. leveraging your deep expertise and in-depth knowledge in various methods for protein purification, and bioprocess development.

You will be recognized as an outstanding scientist in your group. With your advanced knowledge of the discipline, you will regularly contribute in multi-disciplinary teams representing the purification/EBPD and influencing cross-functional research teams. Your innovation is seen in the way you promote the use of novel experimental approaches, create processes, hypotheses and methodologies. You will be using your scientific judgment to adapt standard methods and techniques by applying prior work experience.

How You Will Achieve It
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary teams representing the downstream group / EBPD and lead cross-functional project teams.
  • Help drive project team decisions for next steps in the developing a robust and high efficient purification process.
  • Present scientific findings and developed technologies in meetings and publish relevant articles in scientific journals.
  • Apply expertise in biochemistry and bioengineering principals to understand the mechanism of action responsible for outcomes of the purification process.
  • Interact extensively with other Research and non-Research functions in advancing the vaccine through research and into early development.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • PhD in Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Chemistry or related discipline OR
  • MS in Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Chemistry or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years with PhD of demonstrated experience in independently designing and executing experiments focused on understanding of bioprocess development, downstream recovery / purification, process scale-up, technology transfer and various analytical methods for biomolecules or a minimum of 12 years experience with MS
  • Extensive experience overseeing Reg Tox manufacturing and process tech transfer from R&D and clinical manufacturing sites
  • Experience leading a small team including overseeing team members' work and coaching and developing team members
  • Experience influencing and collaborating peers and others to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and relevant scientific software
