A postdoctoral research fellow position in Computational Biology is immediately available in the lab of Dr. Sergio Branciamore. The group's current research focuses on:
- Applying statistical mechanics and dynamical systems methods to personalized medicine in complex diseases and cancer
- Developing and applying computational and bioinformatic methods to study large biological data sets
- Understanding the role of epigenetics in development, disease, and evolution.
The candidate will be expected to create and apply computational and theoretical methods to investigate biological and clinically relevant systems. Successful applicants will be able to work in a highly diverse and multidisciplinary research environment.Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
Preferred education, experience and skills:
- PhD degree in mathematics, physics, chemistry or computational biology, and a strong motivation to be a part of a multidisciplinary group.
- The candidate should be proficient in programming in at least one programming language.
- Familiarity with information theory, population genetics, and applied mathematics/computational methods are preferred education experiences and skills.
