What You Will Achieve

You will be using your scientific judgment to adapt standard methods and techniques by applying prior work experience.

How You Will Achieve It
  • Drives Pfizer portfolio projects by leading a lab and interacting with counterparts in Discovery Sciences to deliver hit matter for novel targets; focused on, but not limited to, biophysical (binding) hit ID.
  • Drives Pfizer portfolio projects by leading a lab to deliver high quality, high throughput quantitative analytical endpoint analysis to drive Pharmacology and ADME profiling and SAR efforts.
  • Interacts within discipline across groups to advance analytical and biophysical hit ID sciences to drive Pfizer's ability to deliver the portfolio.
  • Maximizes the individual development and performance contributions of direct reports and of matrix team members.
  • Helps to define and to guide the science, culture, and evolution of the HDO Group.
  • Accountable for the professional and scientific development of direct reports.
  • Attracts, retains, and develops talent across the HDO group as a member of the HDO leadership team.
  • In partnership with counterpart scientific leaders, ensures effective use of internal and external resources of experimental labs across Discovery Sciences to deliver key portfolio impact.
  • Advances scientific and technology innovation and excellence that translate to portfolio impact and novel and enhanced workflows.


Qualifications
  • Doctorate level degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or equivalent, with 8+ years of industrial experience, or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Track record of project and delivery of high quality high-throughput analytical experiments and data to drive project team efforts aimed at pharmacology and ADME profiling and SAR.
  • Track record of effectively designing and executing biophysical Hit ID with Analytical techniques (such as Affinity Selection by Mass Spectrometry, ASMS) to deliver useful hit matter for novel targets.
  • Track record of driving novel analytical technologies that have proved to positively impact drug discovery efforts.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration within multi-disciplinary matrix teams leading to delivery of project objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching peers and team members / direct reports.
  • Interpersonal skills to constructively challenge other scientists to ensure the group as a whole performs at a high level.
  • Ability to align, motivate, and support a team in defining and working efficiently toward project objectives.
  • Examples of presentations and peer-reviewed publications from scientific work to date.
  • Experienced in applying broad analytical chemistry and biophysics knowledge for the identification and enablement of analytical approaches that progress drug discovery projects and create and improve experimental workflows.
