Position: Tenure-track faculty with expertise in biostatistics or computational biology

Position Type: Assistant Professor or higher (tenure-track)

Overview: This UConn Health faculty member will have their joint appointment in the Department of Medicine and Calhoun Cardiology Center in the School of Medicine.

Goals and Objectives: The biostatistics or computational biology faculty member will perform research in specific areas that intersect with faculty members in the department such as but not exclusive to heart failure, vascular diseases, cardiac immunology, and genetics. Research responsibilities could include statistical methods development and contributions as a statistical leader for collaborative research studies such as for electronic health records, longitudinal data analysis or genomics analysis.

The research can be conducted collaboratively, independently, or both. The faculty member is encouraged to collaborate with other departments at UConn Health, UConn Storrs campus, and The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine.

Requirements:

-Ph.D. in computational biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, biomedical informatics, or a closely related field;

-Publication record and demonstrated success and/or potential to obtain extramural funding support;

-Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams;

-Potential to develop new areas of expertise and research;

-As a preferred qualification, candidate should have active funded research programs in their area of expertise and a strong record of collaborative interdisciplinary research with a demonstrated ability to lead team science efforts;

Salary: Commensurate with experience
