Intern - Discovery Formulation

Job Description

The internship position within formulation group is a laboratory-based position with tremendous learning potential in the area of drug formulation. Working in a cross-functional team environment, the successful candidate will contribute to the development and evaluation of novel formulations. Under the guidance of Spark scientists, the intern will:

• Design, plan, and execute experiments to evaluate scientific hypotheses.
• Develop and characterize novel formulations (e.g., lipid nanoparticles, polymers)
• Perform cell culture, cell-based assays, and molecular biology assays.
• Present data at internal team meetings.

Education and Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• At least 2 years left of a combination of undergraduate and/or graduate coursework with summer availability (e.g., rising junior, or rising senior pursuing graduate school)
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university
• Majoring in a STEM related science degree with ≥ 3.0 GPA
• Minimum availability of 10 weeks (about 2 and a half months)
• Participation in student organizations and/or other leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Self-motivated and proactive in learning
• Demonstration of agile mindset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated interest in biotechnology and gene therapy industry
