If so, this Field Based Medical Affairs Director role could be an ideal opportunity to explore. As a Field Based Medical Affairs Director, you will be responsible for leadership of the external engagement strategy aligned to the GSK therapy area portfolio, including the design & implementation of the external engagement and advocacy plan aligned to the therapy area strategy. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following: Develop and execute an agreed external engagement and advocacy strategy, which includes National Professional Bodies, individual External Experts and PCOs Identify and agree with cross functional internal stakeholders, therapy area thought leaders and Professional, Academic and Patient groups Engage with & influence appropriate sub-sets of therapy area thought leaders to include Top100, Medical Expert and Make or Break segments to pro-actively support GSK therapy area strategies Identify and lead internal stakeholders including global franchise, R&D, National & Regional management teams in driving external engagement and advocacy plans, by engaging the external expert community Design and drive implementation of appropriate educational meetings, advisory boards, & scientific workshops Identify opportunities for GSK involvement in activities that support patients. Set, monitor and measure Key Performance Indicators specific to the development and influence of Top 100 in line with GSK therapy area and Medical Strategy, ensuring ethical engagement of Healthcare Professionals and work with Ethical Leadership and Finance to ensure relevant company policies are followed. Co-create the Congress Plan in conjunction with aligned commercial functions Provide strategic insight from the external expert community, to support ‘critical issues management' plans, working with head office and field-based directors to diagnose, plan and implement necessary actions. Facilitate appropriate involvement for External Experts with the Global Therapy Area Franchise and other above country initiatives such as advice seeking, market research, content development and clinical trials. Interact with Governments, Payers and other external stakeholders, in collaboration where appropriate with health care decision makers Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Pharm. D or Ph. D, DNP, or MD (with a medical or clinical focus) 10 years of solid knowledge of pharmacology and pharmacotherapy in humans and has experience practically applying this knowledge in a clinical setting. 10 years clinical experience in situations where direct/or indirect decision-making authority for patient care was demonstrated (e.g. direct patient care, treatment protocol development, drug therapy guidelines development, traditional clinical pharmacy practice settings) Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Residency of Post-Doctoral training in a clinical/pharmaceutical practice setting Pharmaceutical industry experience or medical liaison experience Previous clinical experience in situations where direct/or indirect decision-making authority for patient care was demonstrated (e.g. direct patient care, treatment protocol development, drug therapy guidelines development, traditional clinical pharmacy practice settings) Above average computer literacy, including experience with software applications Why GSK?
