We are seeking highly motivated postdoctoral trainees to pursue cutting-edge research in visual neuroscience. The loss of retinal neurons is the root cause of vision impairment and blindness worldwide. To restore vision, our research focuses on 1) regenerative medicine to generate new retinal neurons by reprogramming endogenous retinal stem cells, as well as 2) neuroprotective strategies to boost the survival of existing retinal neurons by manipulating intracellular signaling pathways. Over the past 10 years, our research has produced significant impact on the understanding of molecular mechanisms and functional implications in the visual system, setting up the stage for therapeutic interventions for major blinding diseases. Our research has been published in leading journals including “Cell”, “Nature”, “Science”, “Nature Communications”, “eLife”, and “Cell Reports”. Prior training and experience in visual neuroscience is not a prerequisite for the position. Please contact Dr. Bo Chen (bo.chen@mssm.edu) for the position.
