The new Marine Macroevolution Unit (groups.oist.jp/mmu) at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) is now recruiting four postdoctoral researchers or staff scientists in Ichthyology, Paleontology, Fish Biomechanics, and Systematics/Phylogenetic Comparative Methods (groups.oist.jp/mmu/positions). These positions are available for 3+ years (dependent on progress) and have flexible start dates throughout 2022-2023. All positions will undergo initial review on June 1, 2022.
All unit positions come with research and travel funding, as well as housing, childcare, insurance, and relocation allowances. Researchers at OIST have access to shared facilities and resources with full time staff, including a marine science station, an environmental informatics section, sequencing facilities, imaging lab with micro-CT, a 3D printing and fabrication lab, and a high-powered computing cluster with an array of scientific software.
