Job Duties
- Assists in research activities for several NIH and Industry Funded studies.
- Screens track board to identify potential patients based on a study's inclusion/exclusion criteria and obtains informed consent/assent from study participants.
- Enrolls study subjects and collects data specific to each study (demographic information, past medical history, laboratory values, results from imaging studies, medications, physical exam findings, etc).
- Explains process and procedures to educate participant regarding the research study.
- Collects participant information and questionnaires. Processes, documents and enters information into a database.
- Employees will be required to receive on the job training of phlebotomy prior to performing on study participants.
- Meets regularly to report to principal investigator overall enrollment/project summary based on data abstracted from medical records. Address and resolve inconsistencies in data collected by reviewing medical records and correcting missing or inconsistent data points
- Collects and processes samples for various research studies. Depending on study, will collect blood and other biospecimens, process samples (centrifugation, freezing, shipping, etc).
- Transports, ships, and maintains paperwork for blood and/or other biological specimens according to procedures outlined in study protocol.
- Maintains records and regulatory documents and records for research studies.
- Orders supplies.
- Adheres to established standards, policies, procedures, and protocols of Baylor College of Medicine and Baylor College of Medicine Medical Center.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Three years of relevant experience.
