YOUR ROLE
  • Lead and develop a team of data science engineers and provide technical and functional mentorship to advance your group's specialization
  • Take pride to solve the toughest business challenges and deliver high quality data products
  • Lead cross-functional product teams
  • Use agile methods and establish an environment of constant learning, integrity, and mutual responsibility
  • Be passionate about exploring emerging technologies and leveraging their full potential
  • Collaborate with business and data scientists to productionize data projects
  • Have a clear understanding of business goals and derive data engineering objectives
  • Translate objectives into a project plan for your team covering data collection, data use, and data provisioning
  • Keep scalability, robustness and maintainability in focus
  • Continuously evaluate the results and performance together with business stakeholders
  • Establish yourself as a data science engineering ambassador (d/f/m) across business units and functions

YOUR SKILLS
  • Master's degree in a computer science field, mathematics, or similar; PhD is a plus
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in a data engineering or data platform environment
  • Proven track record of delivering data science projects from prototype to value generating product
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Extensive hands-on experience with data products in cloud ecosystems
  • Excellence software engineering skills in a common data science language (e.g. Python)
  • Advanced knowledge of distributed computation frameworks (e.g. Spark)
  • Experience in specifying and executing DataOps and MLOps concepts
  • Confidence in modelling structured and unstructured data in cloud ecosystems (e.g. Azure)
  • Fluent in English; German language skill is a plus
  • Ability to collaborate closely with non-technical teams
  • Proficiency in mentoring and guiding data engineers
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set
