Tenure Track Faculty Position: Cell Signaling
Department of Molecular Pathobiology
New York University College of Dentistry
The Department of Molecular Pathobiology at the New York University (NYU) College of Dentistry seeks applications at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor for a tenure track research-focused position in the area of cell signaling.
The Department of Molecular Pathobiology has a strong and rapidly expanding research program with substantial support from the National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, and Foundations. Research in the Department focuses on understanding normal human biology and disease through studies of molecules, cells, tissues and systems. Current interests include cell signaling of pain, endocrinology, inflammation and cancer, calcium signaling, infection and immunity, skeletal and craniofacial biology, and developmental biology. We wish to recruit a highly creative scientist who will lead and maintain a cutting-edge research program that will complement and synergize with current research in the Department, and who will positively interact with faculty of NYU Dentistry as well as foster collaborations with the greater NYU and New York research communities. Individuals with interests in receptors, channels, signal transduction and cellular regulation are encouraged to apply.
Qualified candidates should hold a PhD, DDS, MD or equivalent higher degree, and have a demonstrated record of scholarly excellence illustrated by the publication of influential research papers and a record of substantial extramural funding. Candidates with K99/R00 or similar awards are strongly encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be expected to maintain an externally funded research program and to contribute to the intellectual life of the Department by mentoring and instructing students and postdoctoral fellows and by contributing university and community service. Teaching requirements will be commensurate with the Department’s needs and the applicant’s qualifications.
Successful candidates will receive a competitive start-up package, substantial salary support commensurate with experience and rank, and will have access to a comprehensive benefits package through NYU. The Department of Molecular Pathobiology provides a respectful, equitable, diverse and inclusive community that fosters creativity, innovation and collaboration. New York University is committed to building a culturally diverse and inclusive intellectual community, and strongly encourages women and minorities to apply.
