Postdoctoral Fellow, Datta lab, Harvard Medical School
The Datta lab is seeking postdoctoral fellows to join an interactive lab environment in which the candidate will address cutting-edge questions at the intersection of sensory and motor neurobiology. The Datta lab is a fun, collegial environment in which to develop your own future research program, with many opportunities for creative science that span disciplines and approaches — check us out at www.dattalab.org and join our team! We are currently hiring two broad categories of postdoctoral fellow. We seek a postdoctoral fellow with prior experience in single-cell biology, genomics or epigenetics to address questions about how flexible patterns of gene expression contribute to systems-level neural dynamics and behavior (see Tsukahara et al, Cell 184:6326 for an prior example of such work). We also seek a second postdoctoral fellow with experience in neural recordings, dimensionality reduction and behavior to characterize sensory-motor interactions during naturalistic behavior (see Pashkovski et al, Nature 583:253, and Markowitz et al, Cell 174:44 for prior examples of such work). Research projects are flexible depending upon the interests of the applicant, and can involve collaborations with experts both locally and nationally. Ideal candidates should be creative, able to both lead their own independent project, and able to work with others on collaborative projects in a highly interactive environment. Candidates from under-represented groups in neuroscience are especially encouraged to apply.
