Summary

The Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (https://www.stjude.org/research/departments-divisions/pharmaceutical-sciences.html) invites applications for open rank positions within the Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The division focuses on two thematic research areas: 1) pharmacogenomics-based precision medicine, and 2) cancer and infectious disease therapeutics. Understanding the basis of interindividual differences in response to drug therapy enables the individualized treatment of catastrophic diseases in children and is the foundation of our research mission. We are particularly interested in both basic, translational, and clinical scientists with the aspiration to develop innovative research programs in the areas of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacogenomics, with an emphasis on anticancer and anti-infective therapeutics in children. The Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences currently has 10 laboratory-based investigators, including two members of the National Academy of Medicine. Research within the Division is highly dynamic and impactful, attracting over $6M in NIH funding and producing over 80 publications annually.
The division also houses the Clinical Pharmacokinetics laboratory, the Cancer Center Pharmacokinetics Shared Resource, and the Pharmacotyping Resource.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org), a private nonprofit academic research institute and hospital, supports a range of research programs. The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.

St. Jude offers outstanding opportunities and support to collaborative research programs in pharmacogenomics, developmental therapeutics, cancer genomics, solid malignancies, hematological malignancies, brain tumor, infectious diseases, neurobiology, non-malignant hematology, bone marrow transplantation & immunology, late effects of cancer therapy, preclinical genetic models of pediatric disease, and computational biology. Interdisciplinary research programs, along with outstanding shared resources, facilitate collaborations among a highly collegial group of scientists across the institution.

These positions include full salary support, a generous start-up package, and an ongoing commitment of research support and space, laboratory resources, and support positions. The successful candidates are expected to establish and maintain vigorous, extramurally-funded, independent research programs. St. Jude provides outstanding core laboratory support and an unparalleled environment for collaborations among basic, translational, and clinical scientists and for the translation of discoveries from the lab into the clinic.

How to Apply

Please submit a curriculum vitae, a concise summary of research contributions with links to three publications, a well-articulated research plan (3-5 pages), and three letters of support directly online.

Minimum Education

Successful candidates should have a Phd in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, or a related discipline or clinical doctorate (PharmD, MD) and appropriate post-doctoral training.
