Description: Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) is a Phoenix, Arizona-based non-profit organization dedicated to conducting groundbreaking research with life changing results. TGen is focused on helping patients with neurological disorders, cancer, and diabetes, through cutting edge translational research (the process of rapidly moving research towards patient benefit). TGen physicians and scientists work to unravel the genetic components of both common and rare complex diseases in adults and children. Working with collaborators in the scientific and medical communities literally worldwide, TGen makes a substantial contribution to help our patients through efficiency and effectiveness of the translational process. TGen is allied with City of Hope, a world-renowned independent research and cancer and diabetes treatment center. This precision medicine alliance enables both institutes to complement each other in research and patient care, with City of Hope providing a significant clinical setting to advance scientific discoveries made by TGen. As a Staff Scientist, you will work with a team of translational researchers to analyze genomic data to generate hypotheses and reveal insights with the goal of improving care and outcomes for patients with cancer. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic candidate to join the team! . Requirements: Requirements: Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent with strong background in Human Genetics, Molecular Genetics, Genomics, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Biomedical Informatics, or related field. Preferred Qualifications: 2-3 years postdoctoral experience in work broadly related to genomic analyses of cancer. · Lead analysis and interpretation of genomic data to support collaborative translational research · Plan, manage, and implement collaborative research projects · Help design and execute data analytics plans to fulfill the needs of individual cancer research projects · Interact effectively with bioinformaticians to develop and refine innovative strategies · Communicate results with basic, translational, and clinical researchers · Contribution toward peer-reviewed scientific publications · Work independently and collaboratively on multiple cancer genomics projects, helping reveal clinically meaningful insights that can generate hypotheses and ultimately improve patient care and outcomes Skills · Demonstrated understanding of cancer genomics, signal transduction pathways, cancer cell biology, targeted therapeutics, and whole genome, exome, and/or RNA-sequencing. · Experience with genomic medicine and translational cancer research, including working with next generation sequencing data. · Expertise in genomic variant curation and/or interpretation of clinical relevance is preferred. · Experience programming in python and R is a plus · Experience with pathway analysis and multi-Omic data integration is a plus · Experience with statistical tools is a plus · Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams is a plus · Proven record of scientific achievement as demonstrated by presentations and publications in peer-reviewed journals. · Strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to explain concepts to a diverse audience. · Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and perform careful, detail-oriented work within a team environment. · Creative, organized, team player · Critical and analytical thinking skills · Ability to organize and manage multiple projects to successful completion · Strong interest in contributing to translational research PM21 Apply Here: https://www.click2apply.net/Pdboy8hAMX6WbsVW7cP2Dn PI174752929
