Endowed Faculty Positions
Department of Pathology, University of Alabama at Birmingham
Following a successful search in 2021, the Department of Pathology is expanding its major strategic initiative to recruit exceptional researchers having a track record of strong extramural funding. Multiple Endowed faculty positions (Chairs, Professorships) are immediately available for highly successful candidates. These endowed positions will be filled at the level of Professor or Associate Professor. We strongly encourage applicants currently at the level of Associate Professor that have demonstrated exceptional research success to apply. Applications in all areas of research will be considered. Cardiovascular Disease, Metabolic Disease, Neurodegenerative Disorders, Cancer, Immunology & Infectious Disease
Having over 80 full time faculty, the Department of Pathology has a major commitment to clinical care, research and education (https://www.uab.edu/medicine/pathology/). Research funding within the department currently exceeds $12 million annually with work focusing on understanding the molecular basis underlying a wide range of diverse disease processes, identifying new therapeutic targets, and developing new treatments for patients.
