The Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the School of Medicine at Tulane University invites applications for tenure-eligible faculty at the Associate Professor and Professor levels. Successful candidate(s) will join a relatively small (16 full-time faculty members), yet collaborative and vibrant research-intensive Department ranked in the top third of NIH-funded microbiology departments nationwide (https://medicine.tulane.edu/departments/microbiology-immunology).

The preferred applicant will have an established track record of performance in research as evidence by peer-reviewed publications that demonstrate outstanding scholarly work and extramural funding. The successful candidate is expected to maintain a vigorous, extramurally funded research program, participate in teaching activities at the graduate and medical levels and interact productively with basic and clinical scientists in the Department and throughout the School of Medicine and Institution. Preference will be given to candidates funded by one or more federal extramural sources (i.e. R01 or R01 equivalent grants).

A generous start-up package and salary will be provided. Newly renovated (August 2021), open design wet lab space with contiguous lab support space (tissue culture, equipment space, freezer farm) and staff cubicles will also be provided. The Department maintains and facilitates access to multiple core technologies including multi-parameter flow cytometry with cell sorting, confocal and deconvolution microscopy, metabolomics, next generation sequencing and single cell RNA sequencing. The Department maintains active, collaborative relationships with the Tulane National Primate Research Center and the Tulane Center for Translational Research in Infection & Inflammation.

Candidates should submit their curriculum vitae to: http://apply.interfolio.com/105252. Review of applications will be carried out on a rolling basis through June 30, 2022.
