A NIH funded Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the Laboratory of Dr. Ruchira Singh (Stem Cell and Disease Modeling Laboratory) in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. This position will focus on using patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and relevant animal models for mechanistic and therapeutic approaches towards studying specific retinal degenerative diseases (e.g., age-related macular degeneration, CLN3-Batten). Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. and should have a strong background in cell and molecular biology with hands on experience in related techniques, including mammalian cell culture. Prior experience in retinal cell biology, animal models, cell culture and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing is preferred; especially experience working with iPSCs and retinal cells. Experience with and knowledge of statistical and image analysis software would be advantageous. Please submit your application including a cover letter, CV, and names of three professional references to ruchira_singh@urmc.rochester.edu.
