Position Summary

Key position within the clinical leadership team that has responsibility and accountability for the oversight and management of the clinical/clinically related components of the Cellular Therapies (CT) Program. Specifically, the CT Program Director (PD) is responsible for facilitating the development, growth, and coordination of services necessary throughout the enterprise to ensure the quality of the program, appropriate utilization of resources and coordination between research, providers, other clinicians and pharma. The PD will coordinate key initiatives, monitor and drive key performance indicators, and execute on strategic goals to integrate innovative research therapies in the clinical care setting. This position is instrumental in identifying gaps and opportunities to develop/improve the clinical processes that support the efficient and effective implementation of this therapeutic modality. Director serves as the Authorized Representative for relationships with pharma providing FDA approved products and also serves as the REMS Administrator. He/she also develops monthly review with clinical and administrative leadership to enable performance. Key relationships: Physician leadership, CNO, SVP Research Operations, SVP Operations, VP of Professional Services, VP of Service Lines, Nursing, Sr. Director for Access, VP of Strategic Planning, Business Intelligence, Marketing/Communications and Facilities and others.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Serves as point individual for the CT Program to coordinate administrative matters involving clinical and clinical research operations, physician relations, recruitment, budget preparation and monitoring, metric/dashboard development and reporting, facilities, IT initiatives, and other resource needs.
  • Serves as both the Authorized Representative for relationships with Pharma as well as serving as the RESM Administrator ensuring all REMS training is completed and up to date.
  • Participates in the Clinical Cellular Immunotherapy Committee (CCIC) meetings to ensure awareness of CT trial and patient planning efforts and to anticipate potential resource needs, and is: patient centric, well-coordinated with other services and operations, fosters high employee engagement, operationally efficient, and financially viable and responsible.
  • Identifies operational challenges and improvement opportunities, works collaboratively with appropriate leaders to develop and implement corrective action plans and the leads and/or monitors execution and progress on action plans.
  • Develops, gathers, analyzes and reports key metrics in partnership with clinical, research, operational, academic, and foundation leadership teams. Works directly with Clinical Informatics and Analytics to develop a database that tracks metrics for the CT Program including accurate consults, charges for providing care, data across institutions, and meets NCCN guidelines.
  • Organizes, participates in and at times leads regular CT Program meetings to ensure alignment among key stakeholders, review metrics and implement plans to achieve goals set by leadership. Project manages key initiatives within the program including developing project plan, milestones, and metrics.
  • Informs, communicates and reports CT Program status on a regular basis to key institutional stakeholders including Chairs, CMO, COO, CNO, etc. Conducts, facilitates, and upholds efficient, productive communication, working relationships, and functions between staff integral to the program. Prepares and submits reports on a regular schedule demonstrating the productivity and effectiveness of the CT Program.
  • Participates in and monitors the development of marketing strategies, ensures completion of designated activities and analyzes performance outcomes based on determined activity and financial indicators. Other duties as assigned.


Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
  • Master's Degree in Related Healthcare Field
  • Minimum of 5 years related professional experience plus 2-3 years in a lead capacity.
  • Experience with complex project management functions.

Preferred education experience and skills:
  • MSN, MBA, MHA, MPH
  • Current California NP License
  • California NP Furnishing License within 6 months of hire
  • Experience in a Large Health System or Matrixed Health System
  • Experience in Service line development, business development, hospital operations, customer experience management preferred

Additional Information:
