Department of Environmental Studies
The Department of Environmental Studies at the Porter School of the Environment and Earth Sciences at Tel Aviv University invites applicants for a faculty position at the level of Senior Lecturer/Assistant Professor and Associate Professor. Positions are available from the beginning of October 2022. We are looking for excellent faculty members in all areas of Environmental Studies, who are interested/willing to engage in interdisciplinary environmental research.
We are particularly interested in applicants with background in systems science and its application to broad environmental issues with emphasis on quantitative research methods. Our search is open to all fields in environmental studies, including, but not limited to the following specific subjects: geo-informatics, systems science, waste, environmental economics, sustainability science and education research, climate, GreenIT. Combination of the mentioned fields is welcome.
A priority will be given to scientific merit and promise versus sub-area of specialization. Preference will be given to visionary applicants, whose mission is in creating novel and influential solutions to critical to the planet and to societal issues of the environment.
Individuals possessing a Ph.D., with two or more years of postdoctoral experience and a strong publication record, are encouraged to apply. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in research and a strong potential for developing an independent, interdisciplinary research program, and for securing and sustaining independent and collaborative external funding. A successful applicant will be expected to share our commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education.
