A Postdoctoral Researcher position is now open in the Program for Lung and Vascular Biology at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. The program conducts leading interdisciplinary research in the fields of lung biology and vascular biology focusing on the mechanisms of endothelial injury, repair and regeneration as well as resolution of inflammation in sepsis and acute lung injury (PMID26839042, 16955137, 34986352), and the pathogenesis of obliterative pulmonary vascular remodeling and right heart failure in pulmonary hypertension (PMID19487814, 27143681, 29664678). We also study how the pulmonary vascular niche regulates pulmonary fibrosis and lung regeneration. Additionally, we have great interest in cancer metastasis. We use state-of-the art technologies including single cell RNAseq analysis, nanoparticle-mediated in vivo genome editing (PMID34986352), genetic lineage tracing, and genetic cell depletion to address our hypotheses.
Candidates must have (or expect to receive) a PhD, or MD/PhD degree, prior publications, and be self-motivated. Experience in molecular and cell biology, and vascular biology is plus. Competitive salary, exceptional research environment, and outstanding mentorship for independent career development are available at Northwestern University. Position title and salary will commensurate with experience. Please send a CV to Dr. Youyang Zhao, Professor and Director, Program for Lung and Vascular Biology, Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (youyang.zhao@northwestern.edu).
