Tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Industrial Pharmacy/Pharmaceutics
Responsibilities: The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at St. John's University, NY invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences with a specialization in Industrial Pharmacy/Pharmaceutics starting fall 2022. An earned Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical technology or industrial pharmacy is required and post-doctoral experience is preferred. All candidates must have a demonstrated record of excellence in research with the potential to establish an independent research program and a commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Responsibilities include establishing an active research program in Industrial Pharmacy/Pharmaceutics that will attract external funding, mentoring students, and teaching graduate and undergraduate students in Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences. Areas of specialization within pharmaceutics should complement the interests of the department. Representative areas of expertise include, but are not limited to:
- Design, development, evaluation, and manufacturing of pharmaceutical products
- Solid-state characterization, materials science and engineering
- Drug targeting, nanotechnology
- Drug transport, drug metabolism, drug delivery
- Characterization, formulation development, stability and analysis of biologics, molecular pharmaceutics
An excellent startup package is available and a large fraction of the department's graduate students are supported by graduate assistantships, teaching fellowships and university fellowships.
The Department has 34 faculty with research interests in medicinal chemistry, toxicology, pharmacology, and industrial pharmacy/pharmaceutics. The Department offers both the MS and Ph.D. degrees. Modern instrumentation and AAALAC-accredited facilities are available.
