Postdoctoral Fellows- Epigenetics Regulation in Cancer
Postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Suyun Huang in the Department of Human and Molecular Genetics and the Institute of Molecular Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), School of Medicine. The ongoing studies in the laboratory focus on molecular mechanisms underlying cancer development and progression, especially on epigenetics regulation of cancer. The research is funded by National Institutes of Health grants. Please refer to our recent publications for more information (Cancer Cell 2020, 2017, 2011; Nature Communications 2021, 2015; Nature Cell Biology 2016; The Journal of Clinical Investigation 2014; EMBO J. 2016, & Cancer Research 2020, 2019).
Dr. Huang’s laboratory is seeking talented and highly motivated postdoctoral fellows. The successful candidate should have a PhD or MD degree with a strong background in molecular biology, molecular genetics, cell biology, biochemistry, and/or cancer biology. Research experience in protein modification, transcriptional control, epigenetics and animal models would be an advantage. The candidates must also have strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills in English.
Salary Range is $53,760 – $60,780 following the NIH NRSA stipend levels for the appropriate PGY (0–5 years). Health and Dental Insurance will be provided for successful candidates. In addition, effective Dec. 25, 2022, VCU postdocs will be recognized as state employees, receiving benefits that align with 12-month term faculty including retirement payment, life insurance and disability benefits.
