A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Polina Shcherbakova at the Eppley Institute for Research in Cancer, University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). The laboratory studies the mechanisms of DNA replication and mutagenesis, with a particular focus on the origin of mutations that cause human diseases. We use various experimental systems, including yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, cultured human cells, in vitro biochemistry, mouse models, and human tissues to understand the link between DNA structure, the function of DNA polymerases, and genomic instability.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a Ph.D. degree in genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related discipline, and substantial experience in at least one of the following areas: mammalian cell genetics/genome editing, yeast molecular genetics, biochemistry of DNA replication proteins, mouse genetics, or genomics/bioinformatics.

The Eppley Institute is part of the National Cancer Institute-designated Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center. It provides exceptional state-of-the-art research facilities and a superb scientific environment with a highly interactive group of researchers in the field of DNA replication and repair.

Qualified candidates can apply online to position 2021-404 at https://unmc.peopleadmin.com/. Please upload curriculum vitae, a description of your research interests, and contact information for three references. The review of applications will start immediately and continue until the position is filled.
