The Department of Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics at the University of Virginia invites applications for two tenured/tenure-track faculty positions in molecular and cellular physiology and chemical biology. The Department seeks to expand its strengths in cardiovascular, cancer, and other disease related biology with new faculty hires in molecular and cellular physiology of the cardiovascular system and diagnostic or therapeutic chemical biology. The Department offers a rich academic environment in physiology and biophysics with additional strengths in structural biology, membrane biology, high resolution light and electron optical imaging, chemical biology, and proteogenomic and computational approaches. Successful candidates will solve important biomedical problems in molecular and mechanistic detail. Excellent opportunities exist to collaborate with PhD and physician scientists through the Robert M. Berne Cardiovascular Research Center and the NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center at UVA.   Applicants are expected to be highly collaborative and integrate well with a growing number of researchers and physician scientists in basic and clinical departments of the UVA School of Medicine.
