YOUR ROLE
  • Lead a Competence Center for Automation, Connectivity, IoT, Controls and Edge Analytics
  • Guide the development & execution of the Lab Automation and Edge Analytics Roadmap for the Innovation Teams
  • Manage staff and contribute with expert knowledge on selected projects
  • Manage globally the successful implementation of Automation, Process Control, Connectivity and Edge Analytics projects on a global scale, their daily operation after launch and ongoing improvement
  • Drive cross-Strategic Business Unit and Business Unit alignment for automation initiatives, infrastructure & ongoing services
  • Develop short- and long-term horizon and strategy in regards to lab automation services
  • Manage the interface to 3rd party partners and service providers for selected digital/automation tools & solutions
  • Manage and ensure budget allocation according to overall topic prioritization and strategy
  • Manage the interface to internal & external stakeholders (Innovation Community, IT, Purchasing, customers & suppliers)

YOUR SKILLS
  • Successfully completed Bachelor' degree in Engineering required, Master's degree or PhD preferred
  • At least 7 years of Advanced Automation and Process Control experience required including Edge Devices, Process Control, Connectivity, OT Cybersecurity and IoT. Ideally involving the implementation of Advanced Process Control algorithms
  • Strong demonstrated leadership - effectively hire and manage strong technical and program management teams; lead, prioritize, and work effectively in cross-functional teams; effectively communicate/influence at an executive-level
  • Strong project management experience demonstrated by leading R&D, automation or digital projects within a matrix organization
  • Knowledge of polymer chemistry or mechanical testing, ideally supported by work in the adhesive, sealant or coating industry within a lab environment would be an advantage
  • Combined experience in lab automation software, hardware, and processes or statistical methods for formulation optimization would be an advantage
  • Fluent English language skills required, German a plus
