Here, we are responsible for enabling exploratory and multicenter imaging studies, where specialized radiological techniques are developed and implemented as registrational endpoints or enabling biomarkers. Clinical Imaging is part of Clinical Pharmacology Experimental Medicine, the latter of which is comprised of four integrated groups of physicians and scientists who deliver optimized translational opportunities for assets through the Discovery Medicine; Clinical Biomarkers; Clinical Pharmacology, Modeling and Simulation; and Clinical Imaging functions. Clinical Imaging delivers and enables radiological imaging within GSK's clinical trials across therapeutic areas and all phases of development for the current pipeline, while anticipating and developing imaging solutions for future R&D and Clinical Development needs. Current and future delivery is achieved through a balanced external model, working alongside external consultants, academic institutions, and CROs to meet the varied needs of GSK. The Investigator, Clinical Imaging role will reside in the Oncology Clinical Imaging group and complement the existing clinical imaging expertise within the imaging group by bringing in functional, structural, and operational imaging expertise to strengthen our ability to deliver imaging endpoints and solutions for early- and late-stage clinical trials. This role will additionally collaborate with Oncology Clinical Development to develop and execute the imaging delivery strategy required for registrational and exploratory endpoints, and support the greater Oncology portfolio by providing oversight of imaging CROs. Finally, this role will provide operational and trial execution expertise to other members of the Clinical Imaging team to support the greater GSK portfolio. Responsibilities include: Oversee and deliver registrational and non-registrational imaging endpoints on Ph1-Ph3 clinical trials in Oncology Provide scientific imaging oversight to the late phase portfolio; contributing as needed to study design, study start-up, results interpretation, and operational strategy Assist GSK study teams in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks related to imaging, and the interpretation of imaging results Promote the efficiency of working with CROs through the delivery of standardized technical documentation (e.g. protocol language, acquisition manuals, independent review charters) Be an internal consultant to GSK study teams, providing imaging expertise and a critical evaluation of imaging techniques relative to other candidate biomarkers (both imaging and non-imaging) Develop presentations and deliver training on study imaging requirements and oncology response criteria to study teams, at Investigator Meetings, and CRA Trainings. Work in collaboration with cross-functional teams (data management, stats & programming, procurement, etc.) to support oncology studies Translate advanced imaging techniques from leading academic centers to the multicenter setting ensuring quality and consistency across sites Ensure GSK is working with the best niche and traditional imaging CROs; maintaining close ties with the CROs and working alongside procurement to outsource imaging studies Imaging vendor oversight, serve as an escalation point for study teams Support academic alliances including studentships, embedded scientists, consultant network, and investigator sponsored and supportive collaborative studies Work with external clinical imaging experts to bring key external expertise to R&D through consultation Basic qualifications: B.S. in life/biomedical sciences (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of imaging experience in the pharmaceutical industry, biotech, or CRO or M.S., or Ph.D. in life/biomedical sciences (or equivalent) related to imaging Experience in multicenter clinical imaging using multiple imaging modalities (e.g. CT, PET, MRI) Experience in operational aspects of implementing imaging in clinical trials Excellent team-working behaviors, interpersonal and communication skills Preferred qualifications: Experience in the use of imaging within oncology drug development Experience in clinical research working within an imaging core lab Experience working within a pharmaceutical company Experience in the outsourcing and oversight of imaging studies Strong knowledge of the response criteria used in oncology including immuno-oncology. Experience in clinical drug development including early phase and late phase clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams Why GSK?
