We are looking for an organic chemist to join the GSK DNA-Encoded Library Technology (ELT) chemistry team at the Discovery @ Cambridge site in the Alewife area. Our world leading ELT platform is employed routinely across GSK to enable small-molecule lead discovery and target tractability assessments. We are seeking a chemist that will contribute to DNA-encoded library (DEL) synthesis, on-DNA reaction development and off-DNA hit confirmation. Key responsibilities include: Synthesize compounds off-DNA for DEL hit confirmation Synthesize compound arrays using parallel synthesis Analyze, interpret, and report experimental results in ELT Chemistry team meetings Maintain detailed records of experiments in electronic lab notebooks in accordance with company policy Share in responsibilities to support general lab functions Contribute to the writing and conceptual framework of publications, presentations, and patents Establish and maintain knowledge of literature related to areas of research Why you? Basic Qualifications: BS or MS in Chemistry. Position commensurate with level of experience Experience training in synthetic organic chemistry methods and analytical tools including LCMS and NMR Experience demonstrating organization with strong attention to detail and a focus on quality results Excellent oral and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Synthetic organic chemistry research experience in an academic or industry environment Experience with multistep organic synthesis Ability to work independently to design experiments and analyze and present data Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary matrix environment Why GSK?
