Position Summary
Provides project oversight and management for the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of clinical and research information systems. Manages multiple projects simultaneously. Maintains project plans and related metrics including resource allocation, project costs, deployment schedules, and critical paths. Able to utilize industry-standard Project Management Techniques.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Functions as a resource to all functional areas of the Center for Informatics staff. Identifies and assists with the resolution of project-specific issues as described in the position summary. Reports to the designated administrative sponsor, director or program manager on each project.
  • Works closely with division functional area leaders to allocate, manage, and monitor the progress of projects. Identifies and resolves resource constraints, inadequately specified requests, redundant / conflicting requests, and other related issues.
  • Prepares or assists with the preparation of meeting minutes and project documentation. Responsible for scheduling, conducting, and facilitating project meetings and monitoring the completion of assigned action items.
  • Ensures all project team members understand the overall scope of each project, and their corresponding individual contributions.
  • Responsible for maintaining a repository of all project documentation and the dissemination of documents to project stakeholders as necessary.
  • Identifies and/or develops appropriate measurement metrics for all phases of each project in collaboration with the project sponsor.
  • Monitors project performance against the selected metrics and identify variances. Develops and recommends solutions to resolve noted variances, and works with the project team to successfully implement the accepted solution(s).
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines. Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned


Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related discipline required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Three to five years information technology/project management experience in a dynamic fast paced business environment.
