YOUR ROLE
- The R&D Portfolio Manager is responsible for the execution and coordination of aerosol innovation from open R&D sources; supporting brand initiatives, with exclusive, unique innovation.
- These projects may include but are not limited to: analytical testing of products, researching new and innovative ingredients, supporting brands by presenting results based on testing or research, supporting Regulatory Manager with research, writing/executing patent paperwork, developing exclusive formulations and on-site quality checks.
- Expert in managing open 3rd party innovation developed for haircare
- Ability to translate brand needs/wants to independent R&D scientists
- Ability to work with multiple brands and ensure that each brand keeps their own identity
- Research and prepare white papers on cosmetic needs which provides content to solve, translate and/or clarify any technical question
- Perform, document and translate required analytical testing into non-technical communication, which could be used by other support groups
- Conduct on-site quality testing procedures supervised by project lead for performance data metrics, QC/QA solutions, and competitive product evaluations
- Coordinate product submissions to labs, internal parties, and regulatory agencies for all testing and product development needs
- Understand both domestic and global compliance ordinances to assist in the product label review/approval process
- Organize and track lab, packaging, and fragrance submissions
- Assist in other projects as deemed necessary by Henkel's Management Team
YOUR SKILLS
- Bachelor's Degree in chemistry/Chemical Engineer or a related discipline
- Experience working in a lab and performing quality testing procedures
- Project management experience preferred
- Critical understanding of technical information to problem solve
- Ability to effectively translate technical into non-technical communication
- Must have curiosity and passion for product development
- Ability to be both creative & process oriented in support of driving innovation and execution
- Be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic and fast paced environment
- Self-motivated, organized, and ability to prioritize workload
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
