YOUR ROLE
  • Executes engineering processes ensuring that quality products are delivered on-time at competitive cost
  • Liaises with other stakeholders in order to provide professional support and advice
  • Strives for improvements and efficiencies in Engineering area
  • Monitors KPIs for engineering processes
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of technical development and trends in the field of expertise
  • Supervise contractors and vendors as they relate to capital projects.
  • Gathers preliminary information on equipment cost and availability.
  • Contact outside suppliers, consultants, contractors for bid submittals.
  • Coordinates, schedules and supervises construction activities of assigned projects.
  • Coordinates with other departments and/or contractors as required the planning and
    execution of building work/renovation, and/or removal and installation of new
    machinery.
  • Ensure compliance and implementation of company policies as they relates to buildings
    and grounds.
  • Ensures the timely completion of approved capital projects and provides updates on
    progress.
  • Request from contractors copy of their Public Responsibility Insurance policy and State
    Insurance Fund policy before starting any contract or project.
  • Coordinates with the SHE Department for the appropriate orientation of outside
    personnel on safety rules, as required by the company policy.
  • Carries out the installation of minor capital projects which do not warrant outside
    contractors.
  • Report project activities to Facilities & Maintenance Manager.
  • Assists Facilities & Maintenance Manager as required to ensure that capital projects
    planned objectives are economically and timely achieved

YOUR SKILLS
  • Oversees the spare parts room activities when the maintenance personnel in charge is not
    in plant. This include updating the SAP spare parts inventory, stock parts in bins and
    provide the necessary tools required by the maintenance group to perform the assigned
    work orders keeping a log of the tools (who & where) to assure their readiness for future
    jobs.
  • Perform the identification of all company assets, as per company policies and regulations
  • Conduct 4-minute "5S" audits and inform and / or document on the sheet for those
    purposes.
  • Use SPC techniques and participate in groups to solve problems.
  • Ensure compliance with Henkel Policies, SHE regulations and procedures.
  • Stops any work that jeopardizes safety/health of the personnel and/or the safety of the
    equipment and the facilities.
  • Reject incoming equipment, materials or construction work which does not conform
    to established specifications.
  • Terminates any construction activity and/or deny access to company's premises
    to any construction activity and/or construction equipment that jeopardizes the safety
    of the plant and/or personnel.
  • Pursuing a master's degree in Engineering; preferably chemical, civil, mechanical or electrical
    engineering.
  • Minimum of three years of direct experience in capital project engineering in a
    manufacturing environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Supervise the contractors under his/her responsibility to ensure timely, and safe operation.
  • Supervises in-house and temporary personnel actively involved with his assigned projects
    or phases thereof.
