The Research Associate will be part of the Immunomonitoring Team, developing immunoassays and performing analyses to support advancement of novel gene therapy programs across all Therapeutic Areas. The position requires strong scientific and technical skills in performing and troubleshooting immunoassays, with assay development and validation experience required.

The Research Associate will:

  • With guidance, take a lead role in the development, optimization, qualification, and validation of ELISA and related immunoassays
  • Implement new bioanalytical assays or optimize existing assays based on in-depth knowledge of laboratory techniques with support from manager
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to compare results from new assays to those from existing techniques to facilitate bridging studies and assay selection for the appropriate applications
  • Critically analyze data and present results; assist with documentation, including SOP and technical report writing and review
  • Perform bioanalytical assays to support non-clinical and clinical studies following regulatory guidelines
  • Ensure the availability of adequate laboratory materials; order, document, prepare and qualify reagents
  • Participate in instrument maintenance and qualification in accordance with GDP and SOPs

Education and Experience Requirements

  • BA/BS in biological sciences required.
  • A minimum of three years experience ofrelevant biopharmaceutical industry experience performing immunoassays.
  • Hands-on experience performing and optimizing ELISA with different readouts as well as related immunoassays in a biopharmaceutical. environment required.
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently after initial training as well as being a contributing member of a team; possess self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Flexibility to reprioritize projects and tasks according to timelines and business needs.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies. Familiarity of Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) a plus.
  • Experience with good documentation practices (GDP) and an understanding of GLP principles strongly desired.
