What You Will Achieve

The Proteomics team within the Integrated Biotechnologies Group in La Jolla, CA is dedicated to developing and implementing state-of-the-art technologies to support oncology drug discovery and target engagement assessment for truly innovative therapeutics.

We are seeking a qualified candidate to join us at a Senior Associate Scientist level within the Proteomics team. Responsibilities include leveraging proteomic tools to examine drug candidates and drug targets. Past experience in protein sample preparation and analytical tools is vital for this position. Highly-qualified candidates will have a developed interest in cell signaling as well .

The successful candidate will work closely with individuals in drug design and immune-oncology groups to innovate and develop the next-generation therapies.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Prepare samples for various proteomic studies including post-translational modification analysis, global proteome profiling, interactome analysis, and target engagement assays.
  • Execute proteomic experiments while collaborating with internal and external Proteomic resources.
  • Use of PAGE gels, western blots, protein digestion, plate readers, and various enrichment strategies.
  • Collaborate with protein engineers, chemists, and immunologists to identify novel therapeutics.
  • Communicate experimental findings accurately in both oral and written formats.


Qualifications

Must-Have
  • B.S. degree with 3+ years' experience in the fields of biology, biochemistry, or similar.
  • Experience in preparing protein samples from purified cells, tissues, and/or FFPE.
  • Ability to independently design, plan, execute, and interpret experiments.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently or as part of a team, good verbal and written communication, and strong motivation with a dedicated


Nice-to-Have
  • M.S. degree with 2+ years' experience
  • Prior experience with proteomics sample prep
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture
  • Familiarity with drug discovery
