$35,000 Drug Safety Contest: Deadline is Jan 31st

The Sternfels Prize recognizes research to reduce the real-world risks associated with prescription drugs. The Prize is awarded to the most novel, clinically relevant, and testable idea to reduce a life-threatening drug-drug, drug-disease, or pharmacogenomic interaction.

How to Win

  • Identify a serious adverse event that results from a medication prescribed today
  • Hypothesize a way to decrease the frequency/severity of the event
  • In 3 pages, describe a research plan that will produce results to support your hypothesis
  • Judges consider how the proposed research will support your hypothesis AND the likelihood it will impact patient safety
