Postdoctoral fellow positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Yingzi Cong,  Department of Microbiology and Immunology, The University of Texas Medical Branch to participate in the NIH sponsored projects on host-microbiota interaction at the intestines in the regulation of intestinal homeostasis and the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel diseases. Postdoctoral salary is in the range of $50,000 to $65,000 depending on prior research experience and qualifications. The Cong laboratory is fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including 10X Chromium X for single cell-RNA-seq, Agilent Seahorse XF96 Analyzer, a Biotek Cytation 5 Imaging Reader, etc.  The lab utilizes a combination of molecular, cellular immunology, image, mouse genetics, animal models and Germ-free animals to determine the microbiota and its metabolites regulation of host immune responses at mucosal and intestinal homeostasis (https://microbiology.utmb.edu/faculty/yingzi-cong-phd).
The required qualification is a doctoral degree in immunology, cell biology, or a related field. Experience in T cells, DC, IEC, microbiome, and scRNA-seq, as well as metabolic regulation of immune responses, are advantageous. The successful candidate is expected to design and execute projects independently but also in close collaboration with other members of the team; independence and ability to collaborate are therefore requirements. Good command of written and spoken English is also a requirement.
