Fox Chase Cancer Center invites applicants for faculty positions at all ranks in the Molecular Therapeutics Program. The mission of the Molecular Therapeutics Program is to explore factors influencing tumor formation and therapeutic response at the level of protein structure and interactions, and to develop new agents / improve the application of existing clinical agents that selectively target tumors. The Program is highly translational and collaborative, including laboratory scientists studying protein structure to clinical researchers performing trials with investigational drugs and new combinations. Discoveries from basic research are supported in commercialization efforts, to facilitate a path to the clinic. Current members of the Program use tools of biochemistry/biophysics, structural and computational biology, cellular studies, and in vivo models to study diverse targets relevant to cancer etiology and therapy.

For this search, we are particularly interested in candidates seeking to use medicinal chemistry and/or chemical biology to modulate function of cancer-relevant protein targets, in the context of translational drug discovery applications. We are especially eager to receive applications that would enhance current programmatic strengths in lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, genitourinary cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, immunotherapy, cancer metabolism, and/or DNA repair. Applicants for must have a vision that involves bench to bedside translational research.

Successful applicants will join a highly interactive institution that is committed to bridging basic discovery to clinical application through collaboration and commercialization. Fox Chase encompasses 119 research faculty, and many highly skilled clinical colleagues that provide care for over 140,000 individuals annually and are active in carrying out clinical trials. This interactive environment seeks to foster translation of basic science discoveries into the clinic. Information about Fox Chase research can be found at .

Applicants interested in joining such an environment should have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree with an outstanding record of research productivity. The application should contain a curriculum vitae, a brief (up to three pages) statement of research interests and future goals, and a list of three individuals qualified to provide letters of recommendation. A statement describing contributions to diversity/equity/inclusion, and/or plans to make future contributions to such efforts, is strongly encouraged. We are especially interested in qualified candidates from diverse backgrounds and under-represented groups.

Please send the application (or any inquiries about applying) via email to Dr. John Karanicolas (, Co-Leader, Molecular Therapeutics Program, Fox Chase Cancer Center. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled.
