Assistant Professor, Broad Institute and MIT EECS

The Broad Institute and the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, Massachusetts) seek applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level, effective July 1, 2022, or as soon thereafter as possible.  The applicant's research program should involve the development of cutting edge computational methods (including machine learning, artificial intelligence and/or statistics) that could drive the frontier of biomedical research at any scale (molecules, cells, tissues or organisms).  The successful candidate will have research space at the Broad Institute and will be a faculty member in the department of EECS at MIT.

Successful applicants are expected to share our commitment to undergraduate and graduate education by teaching courses and supervising graduate and undergraduate research, as well as develop and lead a vibrant, independent research program that would benefit from being in the Broad Institute environment.   This position involves teaching in the Schwarzman College of Computing.   Candidates are expected to have had formal graduate training in computational science (as opposed to a primarily biological research background), and hold by the start of employment a PhD in the field of computer or mathematical sciences; biological, chemical or physical sciences; or in an engineering field; an MD; or equivalent terminal degree.   We are interested in candidates who are committed to and will contribute to our goals towards diversity and inclusion.
